In case you’ve never heard of Max Bemis, he has a little rock band called “Say Anything” that he’s the lead singer for and even performing in front of thousands of fans was nothing compared to publishing his first comic book writing gig with art by Jorge Coelho.
“Polarity” follows bipolar disorder victim Tim Woods in a time in his life where he decides to quit taking his bipolar disorder medication to discover that he has superpowers.
This is a series that’s very close to home for Bemis since he also suffers from bipolar disorder, but this series isn’t about turning himself into a super hero in these pages, but more like taking a look at what could happen to a person dealing with this affliction and the choices that they would make if given great power. Another issue that bothers the character is that he’s an artist and the only time that he’s received any acclaim for his work has been while he’s been manic, and he wants to change that.
The series is set to be a complete miniseries and , depending on the success of this series, Bemis plans to tell other stories brewing in his head.
