Many years ago, Dark Horse Comics had their own superhero universe called “Comics Greatest World” and that series featured many fan favorite superheroes such as Titan, Amazing Grace, and the Agents of Change. Now, Dark Horse is bringing back that superhero universe with Catalyst Comix #1, written by Joe Casey and drawn by several fan-favorite alternative and independent artists, and anyone who knows the work of Joe Casey knows that Casey is not one to just do something by the book. He will take a concept and turn it upside down, inside out, and give you something so unique and surreal that you won’t believe what you’re reading it and you won’t believe how much you love it!
Are you a fan of vampires? If you are, then you want to check out Blood Brothers #1 that sees two “BFF” vampires on the brink of breaking up. The problem is that humanity is now being threatened by an apocalypse-obsessed villain that wants to end the world. If you want to know more about Nick and Tree before the world ends, then you should check out this new series from Dark Horse Comics
Another classic superhero that is returning to the to the limelight is Captain Midnight with his new series starting in July. This is a new title in Dark Horse Comics new superhero initiative and we follow the adventures of Captain Midnight as he is transported from the 1940s to present day and doesn’t know who or what he can trust in this present world. Thanks to the Bermuda Triangle, he’s no longer seen as a superhero but as a security risk in the year 2013!
Ever since Hellboy from Mike Mignola was created and released into the comic book industry people cannot get enough of Hellboy nor his universe. July will be no exception as we see the release of Lobster Johnson: A Scent of Lotus #1 hit the shelves in July. This new mini series will see Lobster Johnson on the trail of the Crimson Lotus…an agent that The Tongue are afraid to kill! This new Lobster Johnson series also has ties to the previously released BPRD: Plague of Frogs series, so be sure that you get the full story when it is released in July!
