If you were a comic reader in the ’90s, you may have heard of “X“. He was a popular Dark Horse vigilante that gave criminals two strikes then you were out!
Following on the heels of Dark Horse’s other superhero revival, “Ghost“, “X” will first relaunch in the pages of “Dark Horse Presents” #19 with a three part serial there before going into his own new series in 2013. IF you’re unfamiliar with the character, the three part serial is the foundation that you’re looking for to get familiarized with the character before he starts his own series.
Writer Duane Swierczynski elaborates,
“This definitely builds up towards issue #1. You meet X and some of these minor bad guys, and it all builds up. The end of the third short has a definite conclusion, and I suppose you could stop there if you wanted to, but it definitely kick starts the first issue in a twisty way, I think. We’re planning on a four-issue mini series for a start beyond that, and I’ve got a cool big bad in mind for that. I’ve also got another character I’m excited about who’s a former journalist. She was downsized out of a job and is now left anonymously blogging news. She just can’t stop reporting. I always wanted to do a cool journalism story like ‘Shattered Glass’ or ‘All The President’s Men.’ I love those kinds of stories, but little did I know that when I did one, X would be involved.”
“X” debuts in “Dark Horse Presents” #19 this December. Be sure that you add it to your pull list now!
