Secret Avengers #1 Review by Randy Young I was not exactly excited about this book when I read the setup and after reading this issue I still have my doubts. Nick Spencer is a big part of the problem. He does his best Brian Michael Bendis here and comes up way short. The witty banter between characters is flat and the sidebar comments are somewhat annoying. When you read certain ideas and concepts from creators like Warren Ellis or Jonathan Hickman you can see that these men have a vast imagination and their wild ideas give the reader an explanation.
