One familiar name, one not so familiar. I was trying to place Woodley and couldn’t get a grasp on a face to the name until I found out she was in The Descendants…then I recognized her.
And a lot of people will be recognizing her when she appears on the big screen in the new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie! THR reports that Woodley has landed the role of Mary Jane Watson for the new film, but word has it that the part is a small part that will lead up to a much larger part for the third Spider-Man movie, which is leading to the famed “Death of Gwen Stacy” storyline that so many fans know and love.
On top of that, the name that you recognize the most in this post, Jamie Foxx, has landed the role of Electro for the new Spider-Man movie, Variety reports.
Jamie Foxx has a lot stuff in the works already… staring in Django Unchained, another movie with Channing Tatum called White House Down…having Foxx play Electro is a change to the original character (a white electrical engineer) and hopefully it won’t be as bad a disaster as the Michael Clarke Duncan (RIP) as The Kingpin.
Time will tell.
“The Amazing Spider-Man” grossed $751 million worldwide, and the sequel is scheduled to hit into theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014.
