There seems to be a lot of new details and images that are landing on the web regarding the new “The Wolverine” movie. Director James Mangold sat down with “Wolverine” actor Hugh Jackman and did a live interview answering fan questions and really going into detail about the new movie and answering a ton of questions about the new film.
Items revealed during the interview included the fact that there will be other mutants involved in the film, Wolverine will face the Yakuza, ninjas, politicians, and more, and that the film – being adapted from Frank Miller and Chris Claremont’s stellar decades old miniseries – has found a tone that’s more “real world” than anything that Wolverine has been a part of on the big screen.

FirstShowing even has a teaser of Jackman as Wolverine in this great looking image that really shows the tone that the film is going after and looks fantastic!
Based on the celebrated comic book arc by Chris Claremont & Frank Miller, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed. James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day) is directing The Wolverine from a script by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback who are adapting the classic 1982 story arc in the Wolverine comics, which takes our favorite mutant all the way to Japan. The cast includes Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai, Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada and Rila Fukushima. 20th Century Fox is releasing The Wolverine in theaters starting July 26th, 2013 next summer. I’m really looking forward to the new movie. I’ve always seen Wolverine as more of a real world character and can’t wait to see the world that Mangold has created for him on the new movie!
