So you get awesome super powers by accident, get mentored by Spider-Man and become his sidekick, but you don’t have the same moral center as Spider-Man and then you get your powers taken away…what do you do next?

That’s the very thing that Alpha will have to discover for himself in February when writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and artist Nuno Plati give him his own miniseries and explore what life will be like for someone that was a super hero and isn’t one anymore.

The new miniseries will take place 3 months after Alpha’s depowering and now he’s living in Pittsburg. To make matters even worse for him, he has regular check ups with Peter Parker, the same person that depowered him, to make sure that he’s ok. The series will address the fact that Alpha will regain some of his powers, but he’ll have to learn how to use them in the right manner this time around.

Fialkov describes the series like this:

“He was a freak and then he became famous, and now he’s infamous and powerless essentially as far as the world knows. He’s that creepy kid who used to be on a sitcom when he was 5. Peter got these powers and, yeah, he was selfish but he didn’t do what all the rest of us would do. I genuinely believe that Alpha is not a (jerk) like everyone says. He literally is just us. The tragedy in his life is that he was given this great gift and then it was more or less taken away from him. So let’s explore what that means and what that does to a kid.”

Be sure to add Alpha to your pull list before it hits shelves in February!
