Uncanny Inhumans #1 from Marvel Comics

Uncanny Inhumans #1 from Marvel Comics

Randy – First up for us is Uncanny Inhumans #0. This is a Charles Soule and Steve McNiven. You’ll never look at Black Bolt the same way.

Chris – Right.

Randy – Whatever you thought of him before, possibly something different after the guy is slayed, screwed, whatever…killed Wolverine…taking over here. We’ll see how this goes. Should be pretty big because this really the first beginning of Marvel’s push.

Chris – Yeah, it’s like another one shot in April and stuff too. Big Inhuman push. There you go guys. Up for me, we have Avengers: Ultron Forever #1. There is three parts in total but in #1, we take a look at a world where Ultron has defeated everyone and Dr. Doom has assembled a team of Avengers to travel through time to take him down. I’m loving the idea of Dr. Doom assembling an Avengers team again.

Randy – Two Thors.

Chris – Two Thors. There’s all kinds of stuff coming up with that. That’s going to be a three part little mini series done by Al Ewing and art by Alan Davis. Who doesn’t want Alan Davis artwork?

Randy – Yeah, I love it. You have two parts to it coming out this month.

New Avengers: Ultron Forever #1 from Marvel Comics

New Avengers: Ultron Forever #1 from Marvel Comics

Chris – Yeah, this particular month … We also have New Avengers: Ultron Forever #1, that’s the part two that will be hitting. In this one, we get to see Thor versus Thor. We get to see Hulk Hulk-out in a way he’s never Hulked-out before. What else do we get to see here? Vision versus Vision to the death. Then, we get to see what Ultron makes against Doom and everybody that’s involved with that.

Randy – An Ultron book that will actually have Ultron in it.

Chris – I know, seriously.

Randy – Up next, we have Kanan, the last Padawan. This is a character that you’re probably familiar with if you’ve seen the Star Wars Rebels television series. Now, you’re going to see him growing up. Before he was Kanan, he was … Let me get the name right. Caleb Dume. He was that Padawan of the Jedi Master Depa Billaba. If I’ve slaughtered that, sorry about that. I don’t know. Things are complicated when the Clone Troopers turn on the Jedis and slaughtering commences here. We’re going to get to see how he survived and how he, I guess, took on the moniker and mantle or whatever of Kanan here. Apparently, a fan favorite Jedi that we’re going to get to see the past with.

Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men: The Black Vortex Omega #1 from Marvel Comics!

Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men: The Black Vortex Omega #1 from Marvel Comics!

Chris – Yeah, that Rebels series has been a pretty big hit so far so that’s pretty cool. More Star Wars stuff. Next up, we get the conclusion of the Black Vortex storyline with Guardians of the Galaxy/X-Men: Black Vortex Omega issue. We had an Alpha issue. We got the series running through …

Randy – Guardians. It goes through multiple books.

Chris – Then concludes here with Omega. We got Samuel Humphries and Ed McGuinness on board.

Randy – I think month, besides Guardians … Actually, I don’t know if Guardians is a part of it. I don’t know …

Chris – I don’t think it is.

Randy – Captain Marvel and Cyclops are and there is something else that is.

Chris – Okay.

Randy – It goes through all different sorts of books here but you get your culmination point and the …

Chris – The Omega issue. We still see the major threat of Mister Knife and people are, even now, even with this issue, there are still choices that have to be made of whether or not some of your favorite heroes are going to submit to the Black Vortex and let it change them to ultimately fulfill whatever their desire is, whatever it is that they’re really wanting to do and give them the power to do it. I’m really digging this. I’ve been enjoying the story so far. We’ve seen some changes with Gamorra, we’ve seen some changes with Beast. It’s been very interesting too. This is the conclusion, the Black Vortex storyline. Let’s see what kind of ramifications it has from that point forward.

James Patterson Max Ride: First Flight #1 from Marvel Comics

James Patterson Max Ride: First Flight #1 from Marvel Comics

Randy – We shall see. Here’s a fringe comic, this is not something that’s mainstream at all as far as comics go. James Patterson’s Max Ride, First Flight, the number one issue and two issue are coming out. Marguerite Bennett is writing this and man, the artwork I’ve seen by Alex Sanchez looks phenomenal. I’m talking about the same vein as Steve McNiven artwork.

Chris – Really?

Randy – Yeah. Beautiful.

Chris – Nice.

Randy – Follow Max and her flock. The flock includes Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel as they are trying to escape their creators and survive against the cult, the Erasers. Some strange group there and Max finds out that her destiny is to save the world but…can she? It sounds interesting. Apparently, a best seller there. James Patterson, of course huge. We’ll see if this book will blow up for comics.

Chris – That’s cool. When you speak of that, of Steve McNiven, you know he did some fantastic stuff at CrossGen. He was on Meridian. Oh man, that was beautiful stuff. If this looks anything like that, even for… The art alone may be worth checking out. Of course, Meridian spawned also after him …

Randy – Middleton.

Chris – Middleton. Josh Middleton.

Randy – This art here just reminded me of that. Look at it, be aware because Marguerite Bennett is becoming bigger and bigger at Marvel.

Chris – She is. We got some big stuff coming out from her. Guys, that’s our top picks for April 2015. These are in your Previews book.
