Deadline is reporting that Fox has just purchased the TV rights to Warren Ellis’ “Gun Machine” novel “sight unseen”.

“The TV series adaptation, a thriller about a beleaguered New York City detective who stumbles upon a cache of hundreds of guns that trace back to a wide array of seemingly unrelated unsolved murders, will be written by Trauma creator Dario Scardapane and produced by 20th Century Fox TV and studio-based Chernin Entertainment. Chernin and the studio made an offer on Gun Machine, which will be published in January by Mulholland Books, sight unseen.”

This is really exciting news concerning Warren Ellis, ho really seems to be expanding his work beyond the comic book realm to TV and movies. His miniseries, “RED”, was made into a successfully movie with the sequel to start shooting at the end of this year. Also, his comic book series with Mike Wolfer, “Gravel”, is in development at Legendary (a series I REALLY enjoyed). Not only do I now need to read the novel, I want to watch the TV series! Hopefully Fox can keep it on the air for more than one season. Time will tell.
